Athlone Town to take part in Women's National League

The FAI has confirmed that Athlone Town will feature in the Só Hotels Women's National League next season.

The club has competed in the Women's Under-17 National League since 2018.

Athlone recently advertised for trials for the Senior Women's team which will take place on November 29.

In a statement on their website today, the club said: "We are extremely delighted to announced that our application to join the Só Hotels Women's National League has been accepted."

The club said it was also considering entering the proposed U19 Só Hotels Women's National League.

The Só Hotels Women's National League is the highest club level in the women's game and features clubs such as Peamount United, Cork City, Shelbourne LFC and Wexford Youths Women's FC.
