More water restrictions for east side of Athlone tonight
Water supplies to the east side of Athlone will be turned off yet again from 10pm tonight (Wednesday).
Supply interruptions have been happening several times a week in the Athlone area for some time now.
In a statement this afternoon, Irish Water said the water was being cut off tonight "to allow water levels in the Annagh reservoir to recover following essential maintenance."
The areas affected cover the entire east side of the town and surrounding communities as far as Mount Temple.
Irish Water listed the affected areas as: Athlone Town, Baylin, Mount Temple, The Ories, Garrycastle, Dublin Road, Ardnaglug, Fardrum, Moydrum, Blyry, Killyon Hill, Bonavalley, Athlone and surrounds in Co. Westmeath.
The water supply is due to be restored to homes and businesses between 6am and 8am tomorrow.
