Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board has a commitment to lifelong learning and provides a wide range of part-time educational opportunities for adults across the County. The Further Education Services works closely in partnership with relevant local community organisations and statutory agencies to deliver a wide range of courses and projects.
Now more than ever people are thinking about educational options; learning a new skill or doing a course to gain qualifications or as preparation for employment. A new skill learned is a skill for life that you can use to help you find work, further your career or for personal fulfilment.
Further Education and Training offers dynamic, inclusive, responsive opportunities and pathways for every individual. FET empowers and supports individuals and communities to develop and progress in an ever-changing environment. Staff in GRETB listen, learn and communicate with our partners to ensure that our suite of programmes is responding to the needs of individuals, communities and industries.
GRETB’s further education services provide training courses both full and part-time. through Apprenticeships, Traineeships, PLC Colleges, VTOS Centres, Training Centres, Back to Education Initiatives, Community Education, Basic Adult Education, Youthreach, Castlerea Prison, Local Training Initiatives, Community Training Centres, ESOL and Refugee Resettlement Programmes. Co-operation hours with partner services such as Justice Centres, and services for people with physical and intellectual disabilities.

• Information on all local and national courses
• CV Preparation and interview skills
• Student application procedures for colleges
• Information and advice on education grants, rights and entitlements
• General advice and guidance on selecting the best option to suit your needs
• Ongoing support while you are learning, help with assignment and examination preparation and general study skills
