More water supply cuts planned in Athlone

Residents on the east side of Athlone look set to face further water supply restrictions tonight (Tuesday). 

Irish Water said works will be taking place tonight at the Annagh reservoir, which supplies the east side of the town and surrounding areas. 

As a result, water supplies to homes and businesses are likely to be impacted between 10pm tonight and 6am tomorrow (Wednesday). 

The areas affected include: Athlone town, Baylin, Mount Temple, The Ories, Garrycastle, Dublin Road, Ard na Glug, Fardrum, Killyon Hill, Bonnavalley, and Retreat. 

While the interupption to supplies is due to end at 6am, Irish Water said it may take a further 2-3 hours after that before all supplies return to normal.
