Moate prepares to showcase itself
Moate is welcoming the judges for the Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards this afternoon.
The competition which aims to assist in the promotion of enterprise across the country by bringing business and community groups together to foster the spirit of enterprise in their local area and has a prize fund of over €150,000. Judging begins today (Tuesday) at 2pm with a presentation on the town to the three adjudicators in Tuar Ard, Moate, followed by a 30 minute question and answer session. This will involve local businesses, clubs and organisations who will present the story of a vibrant, dynamic and resilient Moate. Following this, the adjudicators will be aken on a tour of Moate, taking in the town sights, history, and meeting businesses and community groups along the way to find out what makes the town tick. The tour concludes in Dún na Sí at 5pm. The winners of the Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards will announced later this year at a gala awards ceremony. The total prize fund for the competition is €157,000. The overall winner will receive a cash prize totalling €33,000.
