Chancer in the running for Nose of Tralee!

Pet Sitters Ireland are running Nose of Tralee - an annual pet competition to find one pet in Ireland to crown the most lovable pet.

Chancer, a German Shepherd breed, from Lumcloon is representing Offaly.
His owner Francesa Fitzpatrick, is asking the public for their vote to win first prize, which includes €200 Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Voucher, a photo shoot and painting, a six month Buster Box Subscription and one month's supply of Naturo Pet Food.
"Chancer was found straying in a field by a family friend who he decided to follow home," begins Francesca. "They brought him to the vet fearing the worst but the vet convinced them it was worth taking a chance on him. They decided to name him Chance as they were giving him a chance to survive.
"He came to me at seven months and doing really well. The only thing wrong with him is the tip of his tail is broken which is why he was dumped we assume, but this doesn't affect him in the slightest. I decided to change his name slightly to Chancer as he does try his luck a lot."
Two months ago Francesa fostered another rescue dog, Wyatt, from Dogs Trust who also had a troubled start.
"Chancer has been a great help to help to him and now Wyatt is happy to run up to people he knows for a petting which I wasn't sure he would ever do. I credit all this to Chancer."
Francesca says despite his difficult start, Chancer is living life to the full now.
"He's the most loveable dog I've ever met and he loves everyone he meets, only wanting petting all day long. He's a good example of why you shouldn't judge a dog by its breed as he's just a big gentle giant and would never hurt anyone. He's even friends with the postman!
"He makes me laugh everyday. Despite his size he loves to sit in people's laps which as I'm sure you can imagine is hilarious to see. He's also a great guard dog," she said urging people to support Chancer.
