Today (Monday) Heather Humphreys, Fine Gael TD And Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation announced the creation of over 200 jobs at Neueda Technologies in Athlone.

The company is a privately-owned IT training, development and consulting firm based in Belfast.

Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation, Heather Humphreys said, “I am delighted to be here today to welcome this exciting news, which will bring 200 quality new jobs over the next 4 years.

“This large expansion of Neueda’s operation here in Athlone is a welcome boost for the Midlands. It is also a great vote of confidence in what the region has to offer and a testament to the talent and skill-set of the existing staff.”

Neueda Technologies will analyse technical requirements working alongside clients, research suitable solutions and building and testing enterprise software for global telecommunications and financial services clients at their new offices on the Dublin Road, Athlone.

Over 70 workers have been employed by the company to date and it is estimated that 10 more will be employed by the end of the year. The new positions are geared towards technology specialists including experienced cloud engineers, agile practitioners and software developers.

Founder and owner of Neueda Technologies, David Bole spoke about the new engineering hub and why he selected Athlone as the new location. “After considering several international locations for our new engineering hub, we opted for Athlone in January 2018 and I can say that we wish we had set up here years ago,” he said.

“With one-third of our current positions already filled, we continue to be impressed with the level of technical and engineering talent available to us in the Midlands, particularly considering our very high hiring-bar.”

IDA Ireland Executive Director Mary Buckley believes that the software engineering hub is a tremendous boost for Athlone and the wider Midlands region. “I am delighted that Neueda Technologies has chosen Athlone to base its Software Engineering Hub. This is a young company which has made a strong start in the business and technical training space, having already developed a strong international client base,” she said.

Neueda Technologies was established in 2002 as a provider of business and technical training programmes, application development services and IT consulting services, headquartered in Belfast. A second base was set up in Latvia in 2012 to support their growing international client base.
