Ewe got to be kidding! 

A new 'fab four' came into the world on Easter Sunday, as quadruplet lambs made their grand entrance on a farm at Knockdomney in Moate.

The lambs were born to a ewe owned by 16-year-old Moate Community School student, Jack Malone.

"They are flying," David Malone, Jack's Dad, told the Westmeath Independent this week. "All of them are alive, which is unusual."

The four-year-old ewe gave birth to the lambs in the early hours of Easter Sunday morning.

David has been involved in farming for the last three decades or so, but this was the first time quadruplets have been born on his farm.

"I have heard of it happening elsewhere, and I've even heard of five being born, but three is the most I've had before this," he said.

David said both of his sons, Jack and Ian, and their Mum, Mairead, were thrilled with the new arrivals.

When asked if any names had been chosen for them, he replied, "We'll probably have to call them the Easter bunnies or something like that!"
