Funeral details announced after tragic death of Athlone resident
The funeral details of Jim Doyle, whose body was recovered from the River Shannon in Athlone yesterday, have been announced.
His tragic passing is being mourned by his family and many friends in Athlone, where he lived on a barge at Watergate, Accommodation Road. His body was recovered after a search operation involving Athlone Sub Aqua Club.
Jim is late of Dublin and formerly of Listowel in county Kerry.
His remains will be reposing at Flynn's Funeral Home, The Strand, Athlone, on Thursday evening from 5pm until 8pm. Afterwards, a gathering will take place in Sean's Bar for refreshments and a celebration of Jim's life.
A committal cervice and cremation will then take place at 2pm on Friday at Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Maria, son Lee, daughter Rebecca, brothers Alan & Brendan, sisters-in-law Paula, Anne, Betty & Yvonne, brother-in-law Ken, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.
