Gerry O'Malley memorial to be unveiled in Brideswell

A monument to Roscommon GAA legend Gerry O'Malley will be unveiled at a ceremony in his native village of Brideswell on Saturday week, October 7, at 3pm.

RTE gaelic games broadcaster Brian Carthy, a lifelong friend of Gerry's, will perform the unveiling.

The memorial committee wished to acknowledge the contribution to its fundraising efforts by the GAA, GAA clubs, the county council, businesses, and the general public who supported this project through sponsorship, donations and the sale of raffle tickets.

Through this outflowing of support and generosity, the committee has now completed a memorial in memory of a man who brought so much joy to the people through his heroics on the playing fields in both football and hurling.

The committee would like to invite all who supported this project, and the general public, to the special unveiling ceremony on October 7 at 3pm.
