Give your car the day off on Friday
Westmeath County Council is encouraging the public to consider alternative means of transport to the car as part of World Car Free Day on Friday.
Give your car the day off while you enjoy the benefits of walking, cycling or taking public transport to work or school tomorrow. For those who have a longer commute and must use the car, Westmeath County Council is encouraging you to consider ‘Parking and Striding’ or carpooling for part of your journey.
Westmeath County Council is asking you to share your individual experience with alternative means of transport and be in with a chance of winning one of two €25 One4all vouchers.
Simply snap a photo on your car free journey and upload it to Facebook or Twitter using the Hashtag #17WHCarFree
Schools and employers are also asked to organise their own Car Free Days and to post their support online as part of the council campaign.
See Westmeath County Council’s Facebook or Twitter page for further information and join in on the 2017 Westmeath Car Free Day Campaign.
