Westmeath ladies football spinathon set for Athlone Towncentre

The Westmeath Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) are running a Spin-a-thon fundraiser in Athlone Towncentre this Saturday, April 1.

And although the event falls on April Fools' Day, this is no joke - as Westmeath ladies football looks for serious support!

Supporters and club members from Goldsmiths LGFA, Garrycastle Ladies, Athlone Ladies, Caulry Ladies, Moate Ladies, St Joseph's Ladies and Kilbeggan Ladies will all be taking centre stage on level 1 of the shopping centre.

The fundraising event aims to create awareness of ladies football in Westmeath and is an excellent way for each of the clubs to showcase themselves.

Spot prizes will be up for grabs on the day, and there will also be a fantastic Athlone Towncentre FB giveaway in conjunction with Skechers Footwear.

The spinners will take to their bikes, kindly donated for the day by the Fitness Centre at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel, from 10am onwards. Everyone is encouraged to pop into Athlone Towncentre to support your club and Westmeath Ladies GAA.

Amy O'Connor of Goldsmiths LGFA and Moate's Trina Murray, Westmeath County Board vice chairperson and vice-president of Leinster LGFA, are two of the main organisers of Saturday's event in Athlone.
