New Athlone cafe to create ten jobs
Ten new jobs are to be created in the centre of Athlone with the arrival of a café, The Galway Roast, which is expected to open next month.
The cafe will be located in a Church Street premises that was previously occupied by MOHH hairdressing.
The Galway Roast, which roasts its own coffee beans, started with a cafe in Tuam and now has other outlets in Castlebar and on Oliver Plunkett Street in Mullingar.
Speaking to the Westmeath Independent, owner Niall Murphy said the Athlone branch would be operated on a franchise basis and would serve soups, sandwiches, panini, and salads.
He said the business placed a particularly strong emphasis on the quality of its customer service.
Work on fitting out the Athlone unit has started, and Mr Murphy said he expected that it would be open for business shortly after Easter.
On Facebook, the Galway Roast advertised for ten staff in Athlone, including a manager, baristas, waiting staff, and deli staff.
