Dessie's home improvements to be shown on RTE
Work being carried out on the home of Westmeath GAA legend Dessie Dolan will be featured in the new series of Dermot Bannon's 'Room to Improve' show on RTE television.
A spokesperson for RTE confirmed that a new series of the popular show will begin airing this weekend and that one of the featured projects would be at the home of Dessie and his wife Kelly in Moate.
Last year, the couple received planning permission from Westmeath County Council for an extension, a new garage, and other alterations to the house on Station Road.
In the planning documents, Dermot Bannon Architects in Dublin was the architectual firm listed for the project.
A photo of two of Dermot Bannon's sons playing football with Dessie in a curtain shop in the Midlands was shared by the 'Room to Improve' presenter on Twitter earlier this month.
RTE recently published its viewing figures for 2016, which showed that an episode of 'Room to Improve' was the most-viewed lifestyle programme of last year on the state broadcaster.
The episode, which aired on February 28 last, was seen by 679,000 people, making it the sixteenth most-watched programme of the year on RTE television.
