Local Minister involved in road crash

Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Denis Naughten is in hospital today after being struck by a car whilst cycling.

The local Minister is believed to have been cycling with his wife this morning (Monday) when the incident occurred between Roscommon town and Fuerty.

Minister Naughten is understood to have sustained back injuries and was brought by ambulance to Portiuncula Hospital to check the extent of his injuries, which appear not to be serious.

His wife was uninjured in the incident, which Gardai are investigating.
