Put that umbrella away! Dry weather to continue for several days
Water levels on the River Shannon have been worryingly high in recent weeks, but there is some good news for farmers and residents in flood-prone areas as the current spell of mainly dry weather looks set to continue for another week.
Met Eireann's forecast predicts that the weather will be almost completely dry in the Midlands for the next seven days, with the exception of some showers on Monday.
Today (Wednesday) and tomorrow will be dry, though it will start to feel a little cooler tomorrow.
Friday will be mainly dry for most of the country, though some showers are forecast in costal areas, mainly in the east.
The mainly dry weather is expected to continue during the weekend, though occasional isolated showers are possible.
Met Eireann says its current indications for next week show that showers are likely to spread across the country from the west on Sunday night and Monday morning.
Dry weather is then expected to return on Tuesday and Wednesday next.
