Athlone woman is lady farmer of the year

Irene McKiernan from Athlone has been crowned as the winner of 2016’s Lady Farmer of the Year competition.

Irene took the honours ahead of more than 100 women who took part in the Corrib Oil sponsored competition.

There was much excitement as five finalists were chosen, including Irene. The others were Kathleen Tracy from Galway; Rachel Leonard from Clare; Róisin Lennon from Longford and Teresa Fox from Tipperary.
