Suspected hit and run leaves young boy injured

Gardai are investigating a suspected hit and run in Athlone last night, which left a six-year-old boy with injuries.

The incident happened at Abbey Lane on the town's westside at around 8.30pm last night.

Gardai are seeking to speak to the driver of a blue/green Opel car with novice plates.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Athlone Garda Station at 090 64 92600.
