€1,000 up for grabs for Best Dressed Lady
Get out the glitz and glamour this August as for the first time ever there will be €1,000 cash up for grabs for the Best Dressed Lady at Tullamore Show. While most people would naturally associate the Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show with animals and agriculture, those who have been to the popular annual event know there’s a far more glamorous side to proceedings, as well - its extensive fashion programme.
The well-known Catwalk Fashion Agency, based in Dublin and Galway, provides the models and the production of the glamorous fashion show, giving onlookers an insight into upcoming trends and a great chance meet professionals from the industry for those interested.
The ‘best dressed’ competitions - that are free to enter on the day - draw people from across the country, as well. The top prize is €1,000 in cash, a hotel stay and dinner in the 4-star Bridge House Hotel, along with a VIP tour of Tullamore in a limousine up for grabs for the Best Dressed Lady; on top of prizes for two runners-up.
There are also a great set of prizes on offer for the Best Dressed Man, Glamorous Granny, Young Mister and Miss Offaly, Traditional Farmer and even a Bonny Baby competition.
Tullamore native, Carmel Duffy, is over the fashion section of the Show and has been since its inception 25 years ago. The professional image consultant says: “The Tullamore Show prides itself on providing things of interest to people from all walks of life to do and see throughout the day, including the more style conscious.
“A lot of people love clothes and take great interest in their appearance, so from the outset, I wanted fashion to be an important element of the event. Thankfully, it has gone from strength to strength over the years with brilliant sponsors coming on board due to its popularity.
“I’d especially like to thank Rose Finlay from Total Health Pharmacy for the new €1,000 cash prize for Best Dressed Lady, which is bound to bring in even more people than usual. Absolutely everyone is welcome, the Show is a fantastic day out and the prizes for the best dressed competitions for people of all ages and genders could make it even better.”
