A summer scorcher in store in the Midlands!
Today (Monday) is set to be one of the warmest days of the summer so far... and tomorrow will be even hotter.
Met Eireann, the national metereological service, is forecasting temperatures of up to 26 degrees in the Midlands as morning clous lifts and sunshine develops in many areas. Winds will be light and there is only 'a slight risk' of a shower or two in North Leinster and Ulster later in the day.
Tuesday looks set to be the hottest day of this warm spell - with temperatures of up to 27 degrees in the Midlands and West.
But anyone planning a seaside trip to the West should bear in mind that it's expected to be cooler along the coast, with a lingering sea fog and temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees.
A few showers are expected in the North West of the country, some possibly heavy or thundery.
Temperatures will drop to 17 to 21 degrees on Wednesday and it will be cooler and more unsettled during the second half of the week.
