Penrose confirms Labour will not be part of new Government
Local Labour TD Willie Penrose has confirmed that his party will not be involved in the formation of the new Government.
The Longford/Westmeath representative said the members of the Labour parliamentary party yesterday (Tuesday) agreed that the party would not be among the members of a new coalition.
'When it comes to voting for a Taoiseach, we will listen to what the various candidates have to say in terms of the package they put to the Dail; the stability of any arrangement being put forward; and the programme for Government being proposed,' said Deputy Penrose.
'On that basis, we will determine whether we should vote for the candidate, vote against, or abstain.'
