Free dementia care workshop in midlands

 

Home Instead Senior Care will host a complimentary workshop for family carers in Mullingar this evening.

The purpose of the workshop is to support them in taking care of loved ones with Alzheimers or Dementia. The workshop will take place at the Home Instead office in Marlinstown Office Park, Mullingar, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.   

Family caregivers from the local community are invited to attend the workshop and learn practical caregiving techniques to support them in their role of family carer. Caregiving techniques include:

· Suggested approaches when helping with personal care activities

· Understanding behavioural symptoms

· Learning how to start conversations for effective communication

· Recognising ways to prevent behavioural symptoms

· Discovering ways to care for yourself so that you can remain a successful family caregiver.
