Longford tie awaits winners of athlone v sheriff yc replay

The winners of tonight's replay between Athlone Town and Sheriff YC in the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup face a trip to Longford Town in the quarter finals.

The draw for the last eight was made on Sunday live on RTE Radio 1 and sees the quarter final clash scheduled for City Calling Stadium in Longford on the weekend of September 13.

Athlone host Dublin junior side Sheriff YC tonight in Lissywollen with a 7.45pm kick off, after a 2-2 draw in Friday night's clash in Clontarf on an astro-turf pitch.

Philly Gorman bagged both Athlone goals, bringing his career total to 100.

Athlone's injury list though is growing with long-term absentees Robbie Gaul and Marco Chindea likely to be joined on the missing list by Aidan Collins and Jamie O'Neill, both of whom were forced off injured on Friday night.
