Tree thief sought in south roscommon

Roscommon Gardaí are looking for the public’s help to trace a green fingered thief after two trees were swiped in Athleague last week.

The potted bay trees were outside a house in the village at the time of the theft, which is thought to have happened during daytime hours on Monday last, August 10.

A popular evergreen shrub, bay trees are suitable for containers or growing in the ground. The trees are estimated to be worth around €70 each.

Anyone who noticed suspicious movements or activity in Athleague last Monday is urged to call Roscommon Garda Station in confidence at 090 6638300.
