Over 268 people have signed a book of condolences in Athlone Civic Centre today, following the tragic deaths of Larry ‘Lonnie’ Hayes and his wife Martina in Tunisia at the weekend.
In a statement, Athlone Municipal District said it wished to express its sincere sympathy to the Hayes and Kelly families on their tragic loss after a terrorist attack, linked to ISIS, claimed the lives of over 38 people on Sousse beach.

Mayor of Athlone Municipal District, Cllr Tom Farrell, offered his deepest condolences to the families on the tragic loss of Larry, known to his friends as ‘Lonnie’, and Martina Hayes in the Tunisian terrorist attack at the weekend.
“My deepest sympathies go out to the Hayes and Kelly families and especially to their daughter Sinead, on the tragic deaths of Larry and Martina. They were very well known family, very popular and a very well liked family and they were very much part of the community,” he said in tribute.
