Home and aways brax to meet fans in athlone
For the second time this year, fans of the Australian TV soap Home and Away will have a chance to meet one of its biggest stars at an event in Athlone.
'Alf Stewart’ (actor Ray Meagher) visited in April and now 'Brax’ (Stephen Peacocke) is coming to the Sheraton Hotel for a meet and greet with fans at 2pm on Sunday, June 21.
The character of Darryl 'Brax’ Braxton is departing from the show this year after making his first on-screen appearance in February 2011. As a result, organisers of the event in Athlone say Mr Peacocke is “taking time from his busy Hollywood filming schedule to say farewell to his Irish fans.”
The actor has been cast in The Taliban Shuffle, an American comedy war film whose cast also includes the likes of Tina Fey, Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton. Filming began in February.
This will not be his first appearance in Athlone, as he previously met local fans at an event in the Palace Bar in December 2012.
The upcoming event will include a Q&A session with the star and a chance for fans to meet and have a photo taken with him. Similar events are also taking place in Galway and Limerick.
Tickets for the event in Athlone, priced €18.50, are available for booking online at: www.ticketstop.ie
