Local writers comedy to debut at dean crowe tonight
Talented local writer Jason Gill is bringing a new comedy to the stage at Athlone’s Dean Crowe Theatre for two nights, this evening (Wednesday) and tomorrow, at 8pm.
Entitled 'The Prime of Johnny Broody', the hilarious play is about family, neighbours, scheming politicians, ghosts, and much more besides.
Johnny Broody is a bachelor farmer in his fifties, whose entire life has been lived under the watchful shadow of his mother, the villainous Bridie.
Now that Bridie is finally about to go to her reward, Johnny is on the threshold of inheriting quite a lot of money.
The only problem is the wolf pack of family and neighbours who are gathering to help him spend his fortune.
The talented cast includes Ronan Flynn, Chrissie Killian, Anne Hoey, Chris Ibbotson, Caroline Coyle, Hughie Glynn, Martin Kelleher, Paul Gill, Tina O' Hara and Martina Breen.
Tickets are €15/€10 and are available on the door each night.
They can also be booked online at: www.deancrowetheatre.com
