Murder investigation into death of westmeath resident
Gardai have launched a murder investigation into the death of a 20-year-old Westmeath resident.
This comes after a post-mortem was carried out earlier today on the body of the late Silvestras Stoskus.
Mr Stoskus had been missing from his home at Bun Daire, Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath, since March 8 last.
His body was discovered in Broadford, Co. Kildare, shortly before 3.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, March 18).
The post-mortem examination was carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr. Marie Cassidy, at Naas General Hospital. The results are not being disclosed by Gardai for operational reasons.
Gardai in Leixlip have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone who may have seen or spoken to Silvestras Stoskus between the March 8 and March 18, or may have seen suspicious activity between those dates at either Bun Daire, Kinnegad or Broadford, Co. Kildare.
