Met eireann issues windy weather warning for westmeath
Met Eireann has warned that gusts of wind in Westmeath and Roscommon could reach speeds of up to 110 kilometres per hour today (Monday).
The national forecaster has issued a 'yellow' wind warning for the two counties along with several other parts of the country.
This means that winds will reach mean speeds of 60 to 65 km/hr with gusts of up to 90 to 110 km/hr.
A more severe 'orange' wind warning is in effect along the Connacht coast.
The winds are expected to ease this evening and the weather warning will cease at midnight.
It's expected to be a cold and frosty night with lowest temperatures of -1 to +1 degrees.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be a much better day with mostly dry, bright conditions and some good spells of sunshine.
