M6 to close at night

The NRA will intermittently close parts of the M6 motorway from next month to facilitate putting the new overpass bridge in place, necessary for development of a service area between Athlone and Moate.

However, a spokesperson for the NRA stressed the closures will happen at night time in a bid to curb disruption to motorists.

The M6 motorway between Junction 7 Moate and Junction 8 Athlone will close intermittently between February 9 and April 10 next to facilitate the bridge structure being put in place.
