Henshaw again linked to leinster move
TONIGHT’S PRO 12 meeting of Connacht and Leinster at the RDS (7,45pm) has inevitably brought about more speculation about a potential transfer at some stage for Athlone native Robbie Henshaw to Leinster.
As Connacht go in search of a first ever league double against Leinster, some sections of the national media have again raised the subject. In today’s Irish Daily Star, reporter Derek Foley quoted Leinster head coach Matt O’Connor as saying that Henshaw is a player he really admires.
“He was outstanding in the autumn internationals for a guy who had not played at that level before,” said O’Connor.
“There is definite growth in his game, he is only 21. But he is under contract with Connacht so I suspect it would be bad manners to be looking to take him away,” he added.
Henshaw is joined in the Connacht side for tonight’s match by fellow Athlone man Jack Carty. The game will be live on TG4 with a 7.35pm kick-off.
