The host of hit TV show The X-Factor recently revealed his childhood hero was none other than Athlone singer Brendan Shine!

In a recent appearance on RTE’s Late Late Show, Dermot O’Leary spoke about his appreciation for the local man’s music.

And last Friday, host Ryan Tubridy featured this entertaining footage of the pair meeting at a book signing event in Dublin:
