19yearold dies in roscommon accident
A 19-year-old man has died and three others have been hospitalised following a single-car accident in Roscommon last night.
The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene after the car he was passenger in hit a wall on the main R368 road near Four Mile House around 8pm. His body was later removed to the mortuary at Roscommon Hospital.
Three others men, thought to be in their 20s, were taken from the scene by ambulance to hospitals in Galway, Sligo and Mullingar. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.
The road was closed to traffic for several hours following the accident to allow Garda forensic collision investigators to carry out a full examination of the scene. Local diversions were in place during that period.
