Local event to feature in Invacare National Para-Cycling Series
On Saturday, April 26, Paralympian hero Mark Rohan will be in attendance when the Invacare National Paracycling Series 2014 comes to Westmeath.
The race will take competitors out and back on the Athlone to Moate Road (the same 16km course as last year) with the first riders due off from the junction at the Birr Turn at 12 noon (sign-in for competitors at 10am).
All paracycling categories will be catered for in the race with a €10 entry fee with refreshments and presentations straight after the cycling in Athlone Institute of Technology.
There will be a workshop held on the day by Mark Rohan and Jerry Towey at approximately 5pm showing the tips on safety, nutrition and essential bike repairs such as changing a tyre.
On the next morning (Sunday, April 27) Shannonside Cycling Club will have a spin-out leaving the Athlone IT car park at 10am.
