Roscommon U21s to face Cork in last four of All-Ireland race

Roscommon will face Cork in the All-Ireland U21 FC semi-finals after the Rebels defeated Tipperary in the Munster final last night (Wednesday).
O'Moore Park, Portlaoise will be the venue for the showdown between the Rossies and Cork on Saturday week, April 19 (throw-in: 3pm). The two U21 semi-finals will form a double header in Portlaoise with newly crowned Ulster champions Cavan taking on Dublin at 4.45pm. Both semi-finals will be televised live on TG4.
Cork got the better of a battling Tipperary side on a scoreline of 1-18 to 3-8 at Pairc Ui Rinn, thereby winning their fourth Munster crown on the trot.
Sean Kiely scored the Cork goal while Dan MacEoin and Alan Cadogan (younger brother of senior dual star Eoin) scored 0-5 each.
Cork were defeated in last year's All-Ireland final by Galway while Roscommon lost the 2012 decider to Dublin. One of the two counties will have a chance to go one better this year.
Cavan stunned Donegal with a late comeback to win their fourth consecutive Ulster title at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh on Wednesday night.
Roscommon easily overcame the challenge of Leitrim in the Connacht final at Carrick-on-Shannon last Saturday - see match report in this week's Westmeath Independent.
David Murray of Padraig Pearses captained Roscommon to their Connacht title success and Nigel Dineen's squad now have their sights set on All-Ireland glory.
