Castledaly native ready for Cheltenham challenge
CASTLEDALY jockey Shane Shortall will be hoping for good luck today (Wednesday), as he takes to the famous track at the Cheltenham Racing Festival.
Shortall, now relocated to Ireland and AJ Martin’s yard having previously been on the books with Ian Williams in England, will be riding Oscar’s Well in the 2.40 Coral Cup (Grade 3 Handicap Hurdle). The former Moate Community School pupil, who began learning the ropes at Derwin’s in Athlone, follows Beechpark’s Kielan Woods onto the famous Cheltenham course, after the Athlone native competed yesterday.
