Lucky €500,000 lotto ticket sold in Moate!

A person who bought a Quick Pick lottery ticket in Moate on Tuesday is now half a million euro richer after scooping the top prize in the Daily Million Plus draw.

The €6 Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Buckley's SuperValu in Moate.

It was the only winner of the top prize in the Daily Million Plus draw that evening.

The manager of the SuperValu branch, Caroline Cashen, told the Westmeath Independent that there was a 'great buzz' in the store after news of the big win emerged. 

'There's great excitement about it and the girls on the checkout are filling people in on the news. We are all wondering who won it and whether or not it was someone local,' she said.
