Dolan and Glennon return for Westmeath
Westmeath welcome back Dessie Dolan and Denis Glennon for the crunch O'Byrne Cup tie against Offaly in Cusack Park on Sunday (2pm throw-in) Both Dolan and Glennon were sidelined for the defeat to Laois midweek, but return to a stronger-looking starting 15 against current table toppers Offaly. Maryland starlet Callum McCormack misses out due to an injury picked up in that defeat to Laois. Garrycastle's Doron Harte is named again in the half-back line, his colleague Mark McCallon is at corner back, while Paul Bannon and Gary Connaughton lines out for the third successive game in midfield and between the posts respectively. Rosemount's Declan Mullen is also named for the third time in the competition, but this time in the half-forward line, having started in the full-forward line against Laois. Westmeath must beat Offaly by at least two points to have any chance of progressing to the O'Byrne Cup semi-final. And even still, Westmeath will require a favour from AIT who take on Laois in the other match. If Laois win by six points more than Westmeath's margin of victory, the O'Moore county will qualify instead. Westmeath: G Connaughton, M McCallon, K Gavin (captain), K Maguire, M Curley, P Sharry, D Harte, D Corroon, P Bannon; K Reilly, Denis Glennon, D Mullen; R Foley, C Curley, D Dolan.
