Athlone Under 19s jump to top of table
Athlone Town Under 19s soared to the top of the FAI Under 19 National League Southe Division with a significant 3-1 away victory over Limerick FC. Athlone had come into the game unbeaten but were still one point behind their opponents, albeit with rna game in hand. However, an impressive performance by Mickey Collins's side saw them race into a two-goal lead by the interval thanks to goals from Jordan Conway and Warren Conroy. A third by Ethan Keogh with 15 minutes sealed the victory, although the home side pulled one back before the end. There was mixed news for two Athlone sides in the third round of the FAI Junior Cup this weekend. In the FAI Junior Cup, Willow Park overcome a demanding third round assignment when they overcame Freebooters of Kilkenny, with goals from Benny McGuinness and Aidan Hyland helping them to a 2-0 win. Mullingar Athletic also progressed to next round with a 4-1 away victory to Stoneyford, whilst CK Utd also prevailed on their travels, with a 3-1 win to Curracloe Utd. However, Clara Town lost out 5-1 away to Wexford side North End United.
