Golfing champion Shane Lowry visits Moate Community School
Shane Lowry, the 3 Irish Open champion took time out of his busy schedule to visit the staff and students of Moate Community School on Wednesday last. The entire school gathered in the gym to welcome Shane and to mark his amazing achievement. Principal Kevin Duffy introduced Shane to his fans and explained just how significant this win was and how proud the school is of this young man. Shane"s sister Sinead is presently teaching in the school, his aunt Marilyn is a member of the school"s ancillary staff and his uncle, Tom Lowry, is Deputy Principal at Moate Community School. Everyone at Moate Community School would like to extend their congratulations to Shane and both the Lowry and Scanlon families, not just for Shane"s remarkable achievement in the Irish Open in Baltray, but also upon the announcement on Thursday that he will turn professional. The school wishes Shane every success in the professional game and in all his future endeavours, and thanks him most sincerely for having taken the time to visit and inspire our young people to follow their dreams through hard work and determination.
