Dancezone prepares for annual dazzling production
With the final preparations being made this week to Dancezone"s annual dazzling production, great excitement is building with all members of the Midlands top stage school. 'It"s a week of organised chaos,' chirped Dancezone Director Sandra Julian. 'The students are now in top gear, the training and preparations are almost complete, but the usual last minute hustle and bustle that surrounds the week before showtime is both great fun yet stressful, we have a standard to maintain and we are very proud of what is achieved each year, creating the need to keep raising the bar.' Each year Dancezone creates its own original production, which uses a clever storyline that brings together all the work that the members do during the year. Once the curtain closes on one show, preparations begin for the next production. This year Dancezone members work their spectacular talents around famous Legends, all of whom have made their mark on the world in some shape or form, stars of the screen, musical legends, Las Vegas spectaculars and those who made their mark historically. 'It"s an excellent show with something to suit everybody, the members who range in age from three to 25, are just super. I"m very proud of their work and their attitude towards one and other,' said Sandra. Sandra was anxious to acknowledge the work of her own dad, John Julian, who has put in huge hours making the scenery for the show, which is breathtaking and a real treat for those who love the razzmatazz of show business. Cathy Gillivan and Anne Kelly have made the new costumes which add to the fine array already accumulated. Mike Fitzmaurice and Mossy Collins have put in endless voluntary hours helping with the making of the sets. Those wishing to enjoy a good family night out over the Easter should come along to the show in Moate Community School from Wednesday, April 15 to Saturday April 18 at 8pm nightly. Tickets are on sale from Music World Athlone, Gavin"s, Harten"s and Marie"s in Moate and Centra in Ferbane.
