New Book Project: Are you a senior citizen, retired, housebound or with limited access to transport? Have you an interest in reading? Members of local youth group, Tubberclair Foróige are currently involved in a project to bring library books and library material to the homes of anyone in the parish who cannot access Athlone Library. Wheelchair Accessible Car Show 2009 The midlands largest Wheelchair Accessible Car Show 2009 takes place on Friday, January 30 to Sunday, February 1 next from 9am-5pm daily in the Glasson Hotel and Golf Club. The event, run by local company Wheelchaircarsireland in Glasson presents a rare opportunity for the public to view and test drive a large selection of new and used wheelchair accessible cars for both disabled passengers and disabled drivers in the one venue. An information and advisory service will be available throughout the event in relation to many motoring queries such as drivers and passengers with disabilities, details about a tax relief scheme, VAT reclaims, motor tax exemptions, toll bridge exemptions, parking permits and mobility grants. A big thank you to all who donated. Irish Kidney Association The annual church gate collection for the Irish Kidney Association takes place next weekend over January 31, February 1 and 2. Parent and Toddler Group The local Parent and Toddler Group meets every Friday in Tubberclair Community Centre every Friday at 11am. All are welcome.
