Republic of Loose go Rustic!
One of Ireland"s favourite acts, the irrepressible Republic of Loose play The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule, Co. Longford on Sunday, December 28 next. It"s has been an amazing year for Republic of Loose. The band re-emerged from the studio back into the public eye with the mesmerizing single "We People (who are darker than blue"), a duet with Sinead O"Connor which the band then performed at the 2008 Meteor Awards. The band released their third album "VOL IV: Johnny Pyro and the Dance of Evil" in May. The album has already spawned three massive hits "I Like Music", "The Ritual" and "The Steady Song", which have received extensive radio play on both national and international airwaves. At the Oxegen festival 2008, they were joined on stage by Styles P and they captivated and enthralled the 20,000 plus people who turned up to pay homage to the current Irish masters of live performance. October 2008 saw the band sell-out the Academy in Dublin. They were joined on-stage by the legendary Shane MacGowan (the Pogues). Who will join them in the Rustic Inn is anyone"s guess! Republic Of Loose The Kings of Gospel, Funk-Rock, Soul and Hip-Hop really do hit a groove. They possess a charismatic stage presence and the musical prowess to leave any audience wanting more. To date, the band have released four albums, each of which have received critical acclaim by both the music press and their fellow peers. Bono (U2) has also expressed an interest in working with the group.
