Athlone Town continues to seek support for patrons scheme
ATHLONE Town"s quest to raise sufficient funds to stay in the League of Ireland is continuing apace this week and the "Westmeath Independent" is again giving you the chance to avail of the club"s new patrons scheme initiative. At an emergency meeting last Mondayweek, Athlone Town FC launched a patrons scheme which they hope will help wipe out debts of over €300,000. In a bid to save the club, Athlone Town FC is looking for 400 patrons to join a two-year scheme, contributing a minimum of €10 per week, or €43 per month, €260 half-yearly, €520 annually, or a €1,000 full payment. As club official John Croughan said at this week"s emergency meeting: 'It"s your club'. Please help save it. The Westmeath Independent has published details of the patrons scheme below and potential patrons are urged to sign up immediately and help keep Athlone Town FC in the League of Ireland (see page 37 for full report of Monday"s emergency club meeting). Sign the standing order form and drop it into the "Westmeath Independent" offices and we will pass on the details to Athlone Town FC. In return for this commitment, patrons will receive the following: A premium season ticket allowing admittance to all Athlone Town games at Lissywollen, to include League Cup and FAI Cup games, for 2009 and 2010. 20% discount on all club merchandise purchased from the club shop Free entry to a draw for two premium tickets for all international matches played in Croke Park (Draw will take place one month prior to match dates). Access to international tickets, home and away. Membership of Athlone Town FC Two years entry to weekly lotto draw Priority ticket booking for glamour friendlies Free tickets to all youth internationals held in the stadium. *Completed forms should be returned to Athlone Town FC in advance of the next scheduled public meeting on January 5, 2009.
