Skyvalley overcome Dysart in local derby as Shiven go top

Shiven Rovers are the new leaders of the Ruby Oil sponsored Premier Division of the Roscommon and District League. They beat Cloonfad United 4-1 at Newbridge to go top of the points table. In a very even local derby game at Onagh Park, Taughmaconnell, Skyvalley Rovers beat Dysart 1-0. The game was played during a downpour and only some brilliant goalkeeping by Benny Lynch for the home side and Shane Gilligan for Dysart kept the scoresheet blank for seventh eight minutes. Emit Kelly broke the deadlock with a fine volley from the edge of the penalty area and Skyvalley Rovers held out to take all three points. Strokestown United had a badly needed win, beating Saint John"s Athletic 2-1. Young Patrick Bogan struck the home side"s first after ten minutes of play and John Rodgers added a second, before Peter Keogh pulled a goal back for Saint John"s Athletic. Kilkerrin United stretched their lead at the top of the Athlone Nissan Division 1 following a 4-0 win over Ballinasloe Town at Ballinasloe. Moylough 79 are in second place in the points table thanks to a 2-1 win over Loughglynn at Moylough. Ballymoe F.C. moved into contention for promotion to the Premier Division when they beat Ahascragh United 2-0 at Ahascragh. Roscommon Town are the clear leaders of the Bear an Raille Division 2 following a convincing 6-0 win over C.P Ajax at Tarmon. Moore United beat Lisnamult Celtic 4-2 at Roscommon. Enda Kenny scored two and Cathal O"Sullivan and Clasio one each. David Casey and Rodriguez replied for Lisnamult Celtic K.C. Celtic go clear at the top of the Casey Ford sponsored Division 3. They beat Cloonfad United 2 -1 at Cloonfad. Glen Celtic and Skyvalley Rovers drew 2-2 under the floodlights at Glenamaddy. The home side went into a 2-0 lead early in the game thanks to David Keegan and Simon Skhachurski. Skyvalley Rovers" Cathal Glennon headed a Colin Flynn corner kick to the net just before half-time and Enda Cusack headed an Ollie Lennon cross to level the game with 17 minutes left to play. Loughglynn United beat St John"s Athletic 3-0 at Loughglynn. All the remaining games were victims of the heavy rain.
