Indulge your tastebuds at Athlone"s Foodie Fair

Indulge your tastebuds and sample some gourmet organic foods this week at Athlone"s very own Foodie Fair, funning from 10am until 3pm on Friday. As part of triAthlone 2008 Athlone Food Co-op in St Mary"s Hall is hosting the Foodie Fair, which will showcase the best of local organic and artisan food producers and suppliers, who will be on hand to explain the origins fo their produce and advise consumers on how best to prepare and serve it. There will be a wide range of fresh, tasty produce available, including organic fruit and vegetables; organic free range eggs; organic wines and breads; local home baking; Fairtrade tea and coffee; plants and herbs; sustainable living goods and crafts. Tastings and demonstrations will include: the benefits of eating organic; organic wine and cheese tastings and an organic BBQ. St Mary"s Hall provides both indoor and outdoor space for stall-holders to display their produce and for visitors to shop, stroll around, eat lunch or sit down and relax. Athlone Food Co-op offers a unique food experience to local consumers. Customer parking is available through the gates at the rear of the hall.
