Henshaw models new Connaught shirt for 2014/15

Connaught rugby star and Athlone native Robbie Henshaw is shown modelling the province's new home jersey which was launched this week.

The jersey is the product of a collaboration between sportswear company BLK and Connacht Rugby. A statement issued this week said both worked together 'to create an innovative, eye-catching design that combines with revolutionary sports performance technology.'

The latest home jersey incorporates Connacht Rugby's traditional colour of green on the side panels with a revitalised, emerald green on the front panel where the logo of new main partner Life Style Sports is carried. The jersey features navy and white panelling on the back and sleeves. The lighter green is carried onto the shorts and socks where a navy band completes the home kit.

The new home jersey will be available in Life Style Sports stores nationwide and online at www.lifestylesports.com as well as other independent retailers towards the end of August - ahead of the first home game at the Sportsground against Newport Gwent Dragons on the weekend of September 6.

Speaking from the Sportsground in Galway, Alex Saul, Head of Marketing & Commercial at Connacht Rugby said: 'We're delighted with the end result on our latest home jersey. The look and feel is true to Connacht but continues to push design to the next level.

'We're equally excited to reveal the first jersey carrying our new title sponsors Life Style Sports. We hope our fans love it as much as we do and we look forward to revealing the away kit and European kit in the coming weeks.'

Meanwhile, Mils Muliaina, who has signed a one-year IRFU contract to become the first ever All Black to play with Connaught, has sent a video message to the supporters ahead of his arrival at the Sportsground.
