Athlone woman in with chance to win €250,000

An Athlone woman is in with the chance of winning a whopping quarter of a million euro - after being chosen to play the National Lottery Money Spinner game this weekend.


Vera Behan from Riverside Place, Galway Road, Athlone will spin the wheel in the Radisson Hotel, Athlone this Saturday, after being one of the lucky five picked out of the hat by presenter Brian Ormond during last week’s TV game show.


A spokesperson for the National Lottery said the Athlone spin the wheel event is one of twelve taking place throughout the country over the summer period.As well as the chance to win €250,000, there are also chances to win other prizes valued at between €500 and €10,000. These include luxury holidays, city breaks, shopping sprees, smart televisions and tablets.

Footage from the Money Spinner game in Athlone will be uploaded for viewing on the National Lottery website on Saturday.


Money Spinner Scratch Cards are available now at National Lottery agent stores nationwide, priced at €3. Players have the chance to win instant prizes of up to €50,000.


To enter the draw for a chance to take part in the Money Spinner event and win up to €250,000, players must match three stars on their Scratch Card, complete their name, address and signature and post their three star ticket to National Lottery in a Green three star envelope, available from all National Lottery Retail Sales Agents.


Each Thursday in National Lottery offices, one hundred three star entries are drawn randomly from all three star entries in a preliminary draw that takes place under strict security controls. From these 100 entries, the five players for the following Money Spinner event are drawn by Brian Ormond.  Entries for the draw close at 10am each Thursday.
