Rosemount, Christmas Carols and Tom Jones?
‘It’s not unusual’ to sing carols at the height of summer.
Well, not if you’re Tom Jones, who according to media reports will record a Christmas album with country star Rosanne Cash, daughter of the country legend Johnny Cash.
The Welsh singer, known for hits spanning the decades from ‘The Green, Green, Grass of Home’ to ‘Delilah’ and ‘Sex Bomb’ is reported to be travelling to the Grouse Lodge in Rosemount later this month to begin work on a new Christmas album and work on new material.
The 74-year-old, who has more recently been in the public eye as a judge on the hit BBC talent show ‘The Voice’, is expected to record several Wexford Carols, which people believe to be the country’s best folk carols and some of the best Christmas music ever written.
Jones is expected to be joined on the production by fellow country man David Gray, who will duet on some of the tracks of the album which has reportedly has been brought about by Madonna’s brother-in-law Joe Henry, who is spearheading the production at the residential studio.

Over the years Grouse Lodge has played host to a who whos of musicians worldwide, most famously Michael Jackson back in 2006, along with the likes of REM, Snow Patrol, Muse, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers and Paolo Nutini.
