Curraghboy student crowned Roscommon Rose

The newly crowned Roscommon Rose is Curraghboy student Orla Gately.
The 19-year-old triumphed over 15 other Rose contestants at the glittering gala selection ball in Kilronan Castle on Saturday.
Orla represented Regan’s Pub and Restaurant in Roscommon town on the night, where she currently works part-time. She is in her first year of speech and language therapy course in NUIG in Galway.
“My jaw absolutely hit the floor when my name was called out. I wasn’t expecting it all, ” Orla enthused, adding that she is now looking forward to representing the county at the Regional Finals in Portlaoise in June and to whatever the next twelve months brings as Roscommon Rose.
